Drop off your used razors: take part in our collection for the European project AbsolEU
Clichy, JUL-2025 - Since 2022, BIC has been involved in a circular economy project called “ABSolEU,” alongside 11 other European partners. This project is a scientific research initiative commissioned by the European Union, aiming to improve the recyclability of a specific type of plastic—Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (commonly known as ABS). This plastic is used in many consumer products, including some BIC razors. Today, ABS often ends up being incinerated or landfilled. ABSolEU therefore seeks to develop a new method to recycle it efficiently and turn it into high-quality plastic.
As part of this project, BIC launched a used razor collection program in March 2025, aimed at the general public in the Lille metropolitan area, as well as in select locations in Nice and the Landes.
The goal is simple: to collect as many used razors as possible—of all brands—and send them to the researchers working on the ABSolEU project to test new recycling methods.
By taking part in this collection program, you’re helping give this plastic a second life, reduce waste, and protect the environment. A small gesture for you, a big step toward a more circular and responsible future!
