On April 21st we celebrate World Creativity and Innovation Day, a day that holds special meaning for us at BIC. Creativity and innovation are more than just concepts here; they are deeply embedded in our DNA, shaping our team spirit and guiding all our actions, including our commitment to social impact. 

This global celebration is a powerful reminder of how essential creativity and innovation are to human development. While the definitions of these terms may vary across cultures and individuals, we are united by the understanding that they are vital drivers of progress in all its forms, economic, educational, cultural, and beyond. 

At BIC, we continuously apply these principles across our business and beyond, notably through the work of the BIC Corporate Foundation. 

Since 2016, the BIC Corporate Foundation has supported creative and innovative projects across the globe, with a focus on helping underserved communities gain access to quality education. While our mission has evolved, our dedication remains unchanged: to support youth worldwide and help them build the skills they need to become tomorrow’s leaders. 

Since 2021, the Foundation has focused on initiatives that leverage creativity and innovation as tools for youth development. We proudly support projects that empower young people — and by extension, their communities — through programs rooted in entrepreneurship, art, music, creative writing, body expression, and spoken word. 

The BIC Corporate Foundation has supported over 50 projects in 24 countries, amplifying creative expression and skill-building where needed most. 

Our impact goes far beyond financial support. At BIC, we believe that people — and their inspiring stories — have the power to spark real, lasting change. That’s why we encourage our team members to get involved in our social impact initiatives. 

Sometimes, a simple act, a school visit, a mentoring session, or a conversation can leave a lasting impression on a young person’s life. That’s the kind of meaningful impact we strive for. It's also how we aim to give back to the communities that have supported us over the years. 

To celebrate World Creativity and Innovation Day, we asked members of our Corporate Foundation Board to reflect on what creativity means to them and how it can serve as a force for change.
