BIC RELEASES 2024 SUSTAINABILITY REPORT
SHELTON, Conn., May 16, 2025 – BIC, a world leader in stationery, lighters and shavers, released today its 2024 Sustainability Report. The report highlights the Group's global impact, including ongoing commitments to bettering lives through community and collaboration, caring for the planet through climate action and commitments and a dedication to continued improvement of BIC products and processes.
“For us, sustainability is more than a commitment—it is a core responsibility that guides every aspect of our operations,” said Gonzalve Bich, BIC CEO. “I remain confident in BIC's continued ability to drive long-term growth, deliver value responsibly and sustainably and maintain the quality and safety of our trusted products to millions of consumers across the globe.”
“True sustainability is human-centered, and it’s our role to show up for people’s everyday needs, from learning and cooking to self-care. These daily experiences are where our greatest opportunity to impact lives, and where our strategic focus will continue to be applied,” said Helen Sahi, Group Sustainability Officer.
BIC set ambitious goals through its Horizon strategic plan, launched in 2020, which included the “Writing the Future, Together” sustainability program, and consists of five core commitments: sustainable innovation, climate action, workplace safety, supplier engagement and improving the learning conditions of 250 million children.
Looking ahead, BIC is evolving by activating sustainable solutions to future-facing needs. In 2024, BIC also met our responsibilities under the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), marking another milestone in its transparency journey.

- Reducing our scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions by –9%, surpassing our –5% reduction goal.
- Reaching 92% renewable electricity usage commitment on all sites by 2024.
- Reaching 99% of our 100% goal of cardboard packaging from certified and/or recycled sources
