ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION
NGO Name: La Ferme du Buisson - Location: France
Access to contemporary art remains limited for many children, who may see it as complex, remote from their daily experiences, or hard to understand. Traditional cultural mediation formats do not always provide enough space for experimentation, self-expression, and active participation from young audiences.
In addition, inequalities in access to culture — particularly for children from underprivileged areas or children with disabilities — create further barriers to participation and creative development. It is therefore essential to develop more inclusive, sensitive, and participatory approaches that allow every child to engage with artworks, nurture their creativity, and build self-confidence.
La Ferme du Buisson is developing “The Sharing Zone,” an innovative space that reimagines the relationship between children and contemporary art. Through creative and participatory tools, the project encourages young audiences to explore artworks independently, while valuing their imagination, emotions, and personal knowledge.
Designed as a space for experimentation, the project promotes a sensitive and accessible approach to art, notably through tools adapted for children with disabilities. The project also extends beyond the venue itself with the “Sharine Zone Mobile,” bringing contemporary creation directly to children in their own communities and making contemporary art accessible to everyone.
