BIC Celebrates 170 (+1) Years of AIGLE and Its Iconic Double-Banded Boot
Clichy, France, 12-SEP-2024 - Since its creation in 1853, Aigle has been protecting and showcasing its expertise as a master bootmaker. In 2024, Aigle celebrates 170 (+1) years of heritage and innovation with Sarah Andelman, curator and co-founder of the former Parisian concept store Colette. Just like the best parties are those organized with +1 guests who know how to have fun, the French curator has selected 8 surprise guests known for their creative boldness and French Touch to reinterpret in their own way the iconic double-banded boot Made in France in natural rubber, in a very limited edition. BIC, the Château de Versailles, Etudes Studio, India Mahdavi, Jean Jullien, Lacoste, Loïc Prigent, and Lou Doillon each embody, in their respective fields, a certain art of living à la française.
Everyone recognizes an Aigle boot or a BIC pen, their popularity has crossed French borders. From the tip of the boot to the ballpoint pen, BIC and Aigle speak to free spirits whose imagination knows no bounds. Like a blank page, the boot is a new territory of expression to tell stories and carve its own path. Available starting September 12, 2024, these boots will be produced in 171 copies for each collaboration.
"BIC is honored to celebrate this anniversary with Aigle. We share the same heritage of French craftsmanship, through everyday products that have become iconic around the world."
- Alix Dufour, Global Art Brand Manager chez BIC.
Available from September 12, 2024, in stores and on aigle.com
