In Morocco, rural areas experience exceptionally high levels of school dropout, and the statistics are worse for girls. Due to a lack of awareness about gender equity, girls and women face social injustices, such as academic wastage and early marriage, making it increasingly difficult for them to properly integrate into society.
In Morocco, every year 331,000 students drop out of school, with more than half of these students coming from rural areas and communities that are among the most vulnerable in the country. Being deprived of education further hampers the personal, professional, and social development of citizens in Morocco.
The One Education project aims to provide quality education and prevent school dropouts. This program focuses on gender equity, fighting against stereotypical ideologies that undermine women’s and children’s rights. The project’s main actions include:
