THE CHALLENGE
BIC members will work closely with university students by providing them mentoring, job shadow experience as well as supporting the student teams working on projects around education and sustainable consumption. It is a great opportunity to engage local communities in Nigeria into such programs which positively impact them. The country has faced many issues around lack of quality education and sustainable consumption as well there exists great potential for social entrepreneurship.
ABOUT THE PROJECT
University students propose social business projects tackling the challenges of SDG #4 Quality Education and #12 Responsible Consumption and Production. They receive help from BIC Nigeria team members to develop their projects by receiving guidance and technical support. The students will be mentored by BIC team members on career counseling, site visits and job shadow experiences to gain understanding of how BIC operates and the business challenges that exist. If their business idea has a strong potential, it will be evaluated by BIC to be included into its business.
