ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION
NGO Name: Dorina Nowill Foundation - Location: Brazil
Art and culture workshops can play a significant role in developing creative skills and supporting the education of children and adolescents with visual impairments and low vision. When we talk about the inclusion of people with disabilities, numerous challenges arise, associated with various situations: architectural barriers, attitudinal conduct, ableism, lack of information and structure, inaccessible public services, etc. In the context of the school environment, individuals with visual impairments often experience exclusion and lack of stimulation. However, an adapted environment with reasonable adjustments can allow children and adolescents with visual impairments or low vision to enjoy the teaching and learning process just like their classmates.
The project proposes art workshops (drawing, painting, sculpture, visual arts, crafts, and photography) for children and adolescents with visual impairments and low vision in situations of social vulnerability.
