During BIC Global Education Week, team members mobilize to improve learning conditions around the world through volunteer activities.
Marking the sixth year of the Group’s largest corporate giving initiatives, BIC donated 4.4 million writing instruments to classrooms and communities around the world in 2023.
Born from BIC's desire to promote and structure its approach to philanthropy, the BIC Corporate Foundation supports inspiring and innovative projects that positively impact education programs around the globe.
BIC works with schools around the world to raise awareness about recycling and the circular economy. Launched in France under the name TerraCycle, the program collects used writing instruments of all brands to give them a second life. It has been adapted in the UAE, where it has reached over 15,000 students and recycled more than 700 kg of plastic in a single school term.
Our 14-year-old flagship Buy a Pen Donate a Pen program in South Africa aims to put a pen in the hands of every student. For every pen purchased, a pen is donated to a student in need. To date, we have donated over 16 million writing tools, impacting over 1 million students every year. The program which was adapted in other regions continues to support students as they embark on their learning journey.
