ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION
NGO Name: Break Poverty Foundation - Location: France
The Covid-19 pandemic has increased inequalities in access to education. Access to home schooling is not possible for families which don’t have a computer at home or cannot offer the parental support required. To address this emergency and to allow these children and young people to study from home, Break Poverty Foundation has launched a massive emergency program to provide 10 000 vulnerable children with a computer and an internet connection as quickly as possible so that they can connect to school from home and prevent school dropout.
The project aims at providing laptops and internet connections to vulnerable pupils so that they can have access to home schooling. Beneficiaries are children and young people (from 6 to 18 years old) who mainly live below the poverty line. They are based throughout France and they are identified by Break Poverty Foundation’s partners and child protection services. These partners have mobilized volunteers who help these children with their day-to-day homework.
Thank you so much for this computer. It will help me doing my home-work. Until now, I was relying on my mobile phone to connect to school and do my home-work, it was really tough. Now that I have a computer, it is far easier to work from home. It helps me so much! Thank you and take care!
